Female founders Monique and Cony may be separated by a generation in age but a shared need to manage collections of valuable information saw them collaborate to create an idea that can resolve a common everyday problem for many. Their collective drive and desire to bring to reality an easy-to-use tool to make this possible has provided the momentum for them to pursue their goal of making Curly a reality.
Monique has worked in the education sector in Western Australia for the past 25 years. Her years of experience in teaching ensures that the team has broad knowledge and understanding of the education sector and how technology can be effectively applied to enhance the learning and teaching experience.
Monique’s daughter is an avid sharer of links and would send her several links daily using email, text, social media and instant messengers, leaving Monique frustrated when trying to go back and find links that had been sent weeks or months before that were important to her.
Cony is an experienced user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designer with a background in digital product development, graphic design, and digital marketing. She has responsibility for the high-fidelity prototypes that map the Curly™ user journey to deliver a satisfying customer experience.
While working as a digital marketer, Cony would be searching the web and social media for content ideas for her clients. She became tired of having to manage a growing clutter of open tabs in her web browser and somehow always seeming to lose track of a link that really mattered.
Anthony has 20 years’ leadership and management experience and has founded successful strategic communications and marketing companies in South Africa and Australia. He holds an MBA in strategic management and digital transformation and has a broad skill set encompassing strategic communications and marketing, business analytics, AI for business, digital media, and brand development.
While completing his MBA, Anthony would source research links online, using his smart phone or laptop, and email them to himself. Later he would have to trawl an ever-growing number of emails to use the links in his studies, which was inefficient and time consuming.
These kinds of challenges provided the inspiration for Curly and its single-minded value proposition of making sure no-one, no matter what they do, will ever lose a weblink again.
